Senior Project Manager – Development

Rate: £65k - £70k

Location: City of London, London

We are working with an affordable housing provider in Central London who are seeking a experienced Senior Project Manager to join a growing development team. You will play a pivotal role in delivering a diverse portfolio of projects, from infill sites to large-scale, complex schemes, contributing to the providers growth plans.

About the Role:

As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of residential development projects, ensuring they meet the corporate objectives, adhere to the risk management strategy, and making they are delivered on time and within budget. You will manage aspects of the project life cycle, from contract management, delivery to handover and defects liability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of residential development projects, ranging from £1m to £20m in contract value.
  • Apply robust project management methodologies, ensuring accurate reporting on progress, expenditure, and cash flows.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including contractors, consultants, local authorities, and developer partners.
  • Manage the appointment and performance of consultants, ensuring compliance with procurement procedures.
  • Conduct feasibility appraisals and contribute to new scheme design reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Manage project handover and defects liability periods.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Extensive experience in residential development delivery, ideally within a residential developer, housing association, or local authority.
  • Proven track record of delivering complex residential development contracts.
  • Strong understanding of the residential design and planning process.
  • Experience in selecting and managing consultants.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and financial appraisal software
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • Strong financial acumen, including cash flow reporting and budget management.
  • Relevant professional qualification (CIH, RICS, or CIOB preferred).
