Are you a finance systems expert with a knack for process improvement and a passion for innovation? A leading UK charity is seeking a Systems Accountant to join its dynamic Finance Directorate.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead on the development and transformation of their finance system Business Central and processes, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of a growing organisation dedicated to making a difference.
About the Role
As a Systems Accountant, you will:
- Be the bridge between the Finance Directorate and IT team, ensuring seamless collaboration.
- Map, manage, and improve finance systems, with a focus on eliminating manual workarounds and automating processes.
- Lead on the implementation of future finance system changes, including key software upgrades.
- Train and support staff in the effective use of finance systems.
- Develop a business plan for new software tools covering expenses, procurement, budgeting, and treasury functions.
- Maintain robust documentation for systems policies and processes.
You’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring their finance systems are technically and functionally up to date, supporting the organisation’s broader mission.
About You
They’re looking for someone who brings:
Essential Experience
- A background in accounting, with significant experience as a Systems Accountant within finance or IT.
- Hands-on experience supporting general ledger, accounts payable, and other finance systems.
- Knowledge of Business Central is essential.
- Skills in mapping business processes, identifying risks, and driving improvements.
- Proven ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Experience delivering impactful training to diverse staff groups.
- A track record in data analysis and report writing.
- Project management experience in finance systems or processes.
Skills and Knowledge
- Strong technical understanding of finance systems and related add-ons (e.g., BACS, VAT).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Analytical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
